Tawd Vale Camp Site

www.MerseysideScouts.com

Introduction

Tawd Vale has a range of campsites and buildings across 80 acres of woodland.

We offer overnight stays and activities to Scouts, Guides and school groups, plus team building activities for businesses (self-lead, own instructors needed).

The site is open during weekends from March 1st to October 31st each year including school holidays.

Reception

Our friendly staff will greet you on arrival; provide you with all the information you need to make sure your stay is enjoyable and direct you to your site.

On departure, please check-out with a member of staff.

We kindly request that groups leave their site/building in the same condition as when they arrived.

Please check for office opening times which will be displayed outside the office.

Providore / Shop

A well stocked Providore including drinks, sweets, chocolate, crisp take home souvenirs and ice cream.

Unfortunately we no longer sell bottled gas, but please speak to a member of the duty team for details of local suppliers.

Toilets & Showers

There are three toilet blocks onsite, one on each side of the site and one by the river in the centre of the site.

The Shower block is located behind the main toilet block by the Delph. The shower blocks will be open Friday 18:00-21:00hrs, Saturday 08:00-20:00hrs and Sunday 08:00-13:00hrs. Keys can be obtained from the duty team.

Car Parking

There are three main car parks available for both campers and visitors.

Vehicles should not be parked on camp sites. Please move your vehicles to a car park after unloading.

During large scale events the staff will operate a managed system to ensure traffic flow through the site, we ask that in these instances you bear with us to ensure we can get everyone in and out of the site.

It is recommended that a vehicle is left in the main car park overnight in case of emergencies.

Caravans

By arrangement with the site manager.

General Information

  • Please report any accidents to the site office.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum between 23:00 and 07:00hrs.
  • Cars are to be parked in the Car Parks.
  • All cars are parked at owners risk.
  • Caravans are welcome by arrangement with the staff.
  • Please leave your site in a better condition than when you arrived.
  • It is the responsibility of each group to have insurance for their belongings.
  • Group behaviour is the responsibility of the Leader(s).

Please note the site is closed from Sunday evening 17:00 until Friday 18:00, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Waste Disposal

We have no recycling facilities at Tawd Vale so please take all recyclable material home with you, burn whatever else you can and put the rest in the skips in the main car park, near the flag poles. Thank You.

Accidents and Emergencies

All accidents must be reported to Duty Staff and the appropriate forms filled as required by the Scout Association. If the matter requires emergency vehicles then staff must be informed so they can make sure these vehicles will have clear access to the site.

Emergency Situation

Should there be a need for evacuation of camp sites then a prolonged rining of the bell by Reception will take place. On hearing this all campers should report to the Main Car Park and leaders in charge should complete a roll call and inform duty staff when all sites are cleared.
